Arista Detter (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary artist based in NYC and Madison, WI. She is a performer and creative who embraces stories that center around human connection, the dichotomy of love and grief, and uplifting women’s voices, stories, and experiences. She embraces work that moves, reveals, or changes people for the better.

Arista Detter received her BFA in Musical Theatre and BA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, class of 2024.
Acting - Chekov technique, Stanislavski method, Meisner technique, Voice and Articulation (Laban, Linklater, Rodenberg), as well as Stage Combat and Improvisation.
Dance - Modern, Jazz/Theatre Dance, Ballet, Tap, as well as Movement Theory & Analysis, Composition, and Teaching Theories.
Voice - Private voice lessons, Musical Theatre Lab, and Music Theory
Additional opportunities: choreographing and assistant directing mainstage productions, writing/performing original plays & dance works, presenting original work (Icarus and Apollo) in the ACDA North Central Conference gala performance, and other various leadership, creative team, and performance experiences.

In what we keep, what we throw away, NationalSawdust+ gathers together four celebrated creators to reflect on ideas of efficiency and elegance in their distinctive practices. In an unusually intimate engagement, Pulitzer-Prize winning artist Caroline Shaw, who recently scored the Broadway production of Death of a Salesman, will perform and talk about intention with Sarah DeLappe (The Wolves; Bodies Bodies Bodies), who will present excerpts of her highly musical work, which has spanned stage, TV, and film. Acclaimed chef Shenarri Freeman, whose vegan restaurant Cadence made waves in New York City, and best-selling cookbook maven Melissa Clark will take us inside the process of culinary creation.
The program will include cellist Emily Brausa and feature the opening scene from DeLappe's The Wolves, read by The Heights Players, following their recent performances in Brooklyn.
